Quin Marie George
Today is December 3rd, 2008.
A long, long time ago (something to hum by below)
I can still remember sitting around the table doing the math on how old we would all be when the new baby turned 10.
Kaitlin would be 23--jeez, she would be "so" old, and Erin Liz,-she would be (also very old) 19. Mike would be blah, blah, and I would be a bit younger than blah, blah.
All of a sudden we are here, and that 3lb 14 oz baby that we brought home--and we have the pictures of her by the clicker, a piece of celery, and a baseball to prove it, is into the double digits, year-wise.
She is very big now, I think in part, because we all rubbed her legs when she was a baby--and the big girls tossed her around unmercifly, and never, ever underestimate the power of Ramen Noodles and hot sauce. I think they should rename the stuff "Quin Marie Noodles".
She was raised by three moms and a dad, and she is a little more "savvy" than her friends that don't have big sisters, but that is what she is-our big 10 year old, double digit girl,
Happy 10th Birthday Quinny!
Love,
Mom, Dad, Kaitlin, Erin, Joe, and Oscar!

Point, and counter point...
this is what happens when I get the camera at a family event--I believe they were all pointing to the button--you know, the one that takes the pic--luckily there was no audio...

and it seems everyone was talking at me...but I can't hear a word their saying...

Our, "technincially" first trick or treater was a 5 year old boy visiting from Paris, France. Yes, I gave him half of the candy that I bought. Cute as a button, in a super hero outfit I didn't recognize. I would have taken his pic, but I didn't want to infringe on International Law/Fall Experiences. His aunt and uncle said they have been "admiring" my pumpkins all week--I''m not sure what that means? Here they are for the whole world to see: pumpkins, that is--you will have to hum along to your own tune for this one! :)
ps: Dad, I dated this entry in "Deere" time!
pss: Had a serious mad rush of kids, ran out of candy--started dipping into Quin's lunch stuff.
Ham sandwiches all around people--and I started to remind them to brush their teeth--very loud, and the next time they come over, it's a liverwerst sandwich--with a side of black olives! :)
All of the sudden, the door bell keeps ringing--I need Quin to come home with her stash--or else I will start giving out golf clubs, misc. cords, and dogs.
Happy Halloween 2008 Coverage
so far, our only trick or treater has been the UPS guy, and guess what he dressed up as???
He, along with all of NC is frightened of me--but he (UPS guy) loves M&M's and snickers--I gave him extras!!
Mike and Quin just went up to the store to get "supplies", they both have butter knives in their jugulars, and paint on their faces, and one of them (who shall remain nameless, has pink hair)
ps: the ups guy was at the neighbors house, not mine.
something, as always to hum to:

trick or treat??

Before and After Thursdays...
Another in the never ending saga of; do you like it better before, or after: I give you...the simple stool (of the foot variety):
before, --and below--after

The one thing I like about the after--is that I had the card catalog in it's picture, you can only see a little bit of it--but I had every bit, and now--so does a lady from our yard sale.--sold it, so we could make room for cords and golf clubs. (see earlier post)
and as always, something to hum to: nothing to do with stools, but Happy Halloween Eve!
(ps: if you have an eagle eye, at the beginning of the clip--I swear it's Aunt Bea? Correct me if I'm wrong)

Your must love it or leave it..or buy more stuff~~
When Mike and I decided to move to NC it was a process, a process indeed. All of the things that we sorted thru, we said--if you absolutely love, then--hell yes, lets bring it. But if you don't love it let's find another home for it. Well we found another home for all of "my stuff", and Mike still has all of his cords, golf clubs, baseballs, clippings, some grass clippings, and a tiny boat that he and his class made--and the list could go on, and on.
But, today--my faithful friends--I found something that I love--and I wouldn't bring it into the house if I didn't. I, am playing by the moving rules.
Here it is--and if you know me, you know--it is perfect! ps: there is a slide out secret drawer!! :)

Library

We have a tiny one here at home, and we are card carrying members of the Wake County Public School Library--but this one is kick ass! (although a bit yellow)
here is something to hum to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43Ho_6C_fM4
Dog!
We haven't talked about this much, but there are some secrets that go on around here. Unfortunately, apparently--only Joe and Oscar know what the heck they are. We will continue to interrogate. ( I think it has something to do with how to get the lid off the bin of the dog food, but I cannot be certain)
and, something to hum to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFypAB7nYGA by the old group, Three Dog Night--we are short one dog, but I think the two mouse nests in my engine will count as one canine--or else, the cat that sleeps in my car if I leave the windows down will surely get me to "Three Dog Night"~

George's by tens...
if you know us, you know we have a system for remembering some birthdays (for the rest we go by grandpa don's list, that is posted on everyones fridge)--we have a decade deal--Quin will be kicking it off in December leading her into 10 years, followed closely by Erin Liz hitting 20, next up Mike--50!!, then it's Grandma Clark time at 90!!!, followed by Rose Marie George looking quite lovely at age **.
below is a pic of #2 and #4 on the decade grid:

Erin Elizabeth George and Martha Plumdina Marie Maryann Carmicyle Ognasious Clark.

If your happy and you know it, your Dad gave your a lawn mower!
the tax collector
If you ever want to plan a party, I suggest you invite this girl--she is my sister in law--Tim's wife, Kali's mom, and Karl's owner--we call her Jennie.
She had everything under control, bought, prepared, etc. I really wish I was more like her.
Thanks Jennie, for all that you did (which was everything) to make the weekend a success!
Rescue mission
This little pup was wanderering around our neighborhood after school today--Quinny (much like her grandma linda) brought him home, fed him, watered him, and called the number on the tag.
Seriously, she could have also milked him, he was huge--ginormous--really, big nice dog!
The second pic, obviously, is the grateful owner!
(we named him Ryan, but his god given name is Jackson)
Happy Anniversary to Don and Rose
We had a great time in Florida--down Taveres way--kinda south of Palutka--
Wonderful to spend quality time with my brother in laws, Andy, Greg, and Tim. They are three of the nicest people you will ever meet--well, except for my brothers--Dave, Mike (Steve), and Kevin. Well, and Krissy, and my Dad and Mom, and Uncle Jim, the list continues!

George's III
Lot's of smiles here--I think there was a fart involved--Lisa Parker (fart expert), please advise!
My inlaws are getting ready to celebrate there 50th anniversary--and this is their family pic from, I'm guessing 1980? All of the boys and the girl in the picture have been so nice to me over the years--Happy Anniversary Don and Rose! 10-11-58
George's II
It's George week--gather around
It's football season, and going thru the 950 million pictures I have, I ran across this one of my spouse--he still has the strong shoulders, sans football pads, not from working out these days tho--but carrying me, Kaitlin, Erin, and Quin on them in his mind everyday--great gig--no?
Hair comments are welcome--thanks god they invented product~~

Our back yard, from the markers of Quinny

Joe hates Oscar, but Oscar loves Joe (seriously, in the way we need to get him fixed) "loves" Joe.
Pulled this picture from Quin's bookbag--its a view of our backyard--if you look closely, you can see me and Mike playing Frisbee!! If you look really closely you can see me almost getting hit in the face with the Frisbee. Laugh all you want folks! Glasses are not cheap!!
Before and After Thursdays...

I can never get enough of these kind of ideas, and I can think of them myself--Mike just can't get them done quickly enough--what with his job and all, but he does give it the old college try, and shakes his head at me...alot.
Here is another that I love, and had, and sold, and wish I now had
ps: I used to have a trunk like this...before and after pics compliments of designsponge.com
How about this Cub fans....
