Sorry for the lapse, faithful readers--we have had company!

First game:
I didn't know what to do or say, but Mike (experienced) helped me along--I didn't take my camera, but you would have loved to see my face when they said my assignment was 1st base coach. I asked Mike (third base coach) for the signals--He told me it's easy, put your two hands together and clap! Which I did, alot. It is an amazing field, and an amazing group of volunteers (not me, the other folk).
The kids range from ones who are in a wheelchair, to ones who can walk with help, and to ones that can run--all the way out of the gate. (Rule #1, 1st base coach, lock the gate). The field and all of the extra's are just so wonderful.
The extra's include a kick ass dugout, players favorite music as they bat, an awesome kid announcer who assigns a nick name to each player , and--for the first game a scorekeeper extrodinaire, the lovely Ms. Quin George.
They ask for volunteers to sing the National Anthem, and Quin thought about it--she needs another week to practice singing into a wooden spoon in our kitchen.
I will keep you posted!
