Black History Month

ok--this is important, and the lady at Walmart gave me a "Kraft" recipe book celebrating the fact. What happens after--do we have "White" History Month for the next 11 months??

I'm trying to think about what it means to me--

To me it means friends that I went to school with every day--Marsha Smallwood, Spike Anders, Mike Little--, and my sister and brother's friends--Devra, Rommel, Dewitt, Skipper, and Mush.,--along with all of their parents:

and it means that my parents always welcomed them to our house.

It means that my Grandpa Klier (who would be 99 years old if he was still with us) got into some sort of "fistacuff" making sure that all of the black athletes got there fair shake at the old Turner Hall.

It means that we (as a family) accepted our friends, as our friends.

something to hum along to: (beware, it's a young Stevie and Paul, and pretty sappy, but I love it)
